Christmas in KB: 2020 Guide

Have your baubles at the ready, there’s only one month left until Christmas!

The past few months leading into the festive season have been a whirlwind, to say the least! We know the holidays can be a stressful time of the year, so we’re kicking off December with our 2020 guide to Christmas in Kalgoorlie-Boulder!

Here in Australia or ‘the land where it’s always hot’, obviously we aren’t building snowmen or drinking hot cocoa by the fire to get into the spirit of Christmas.

(Pssst…just between us – we’d take a poolside barbie over the snow any day!)

That being said, we’ve come up with our best list of summertime festivities to get you geared up for the holiday season!

Getting in the spirit

For some, it might be a bit of challenge getting into a ‘jolly’ mood. Making this the perfect time to watch a few classic holiday movies, jam out to ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and let go of all your worries!

To treat your ears to some festive bops, find Santa’s Radio by Triple M here!

Putting up the tree

For many, the 1st of December marks the date when it is most acceptable to start putting up the Christmas tree and the relevant home décor. Go the extra mile and decorate the front yard to really get in the spirit!

Now is a good time for picking out which pieces you would like displayed, which is a fun time for the kids to help out, too.

See the lights
We have a lot of people in Kalgoorlie-Boulder who are dedicated to putting on stunning light displays every year for our community to admire. You can even book a Tram Tour so you don’t miss any of the fun!

Buying presents

Although this shouldn’t be a big priority, it often ends up being a larger stress than it ever should be. Our motto this year has been to keep it LoKal, to support our small local businesses over the holidays.

Keep an eye out for our ‘LoKal Xmas Shopping’ blog next week for great ideas!

All Things Santa!

Santa loves receiving letters from children throughout Australia, particularly hearing their stories and what presents they would like for Christmas. You can post letters to his address:

Enjoy the company of loved ones

Above all else, Christmas is a time to be thankful for all we have in life, and spend time with our nearest and dearest, friends and family.

We hope you stay safe this holiday season and get to truly enjoy the magic of Christmas this 2020!
