They say Kalgoorlie-Boulder is the home of opportunity and that mantra was certainly in full display on Saturday 18th of February in London where Kalgoorlie-Boulder fashion label, Bel Capello, launched their 2017 collection at the House Of iKons show during London Fashion Week, as a featured designer to head designer Ana Bella Millinery.

The label took 15 looks to the runway, demonstrating the popular trends of the 2017 collections including speciality 1930’s pleats individually hand pleated in Melbourne, Australia.

The House of Ikons saw a sold-out event and the Australian representation was in full support with models Simone Butschle and Latoyah Asha being the first Australian models to walk the runway under the direction of HOIK CEO Savita Kaye.

The Bel Cappello collection was inspired by designers Holly and Jennine Kiely’s trip to London during London Hat Week in the October of 2017 where they gained inspiration from the fabrics they’d purchased in the UK.

“London has a very eclectic taste in fashion which helped to direct the designs of our 2017 collection. We witness styles that appear to be women taking a peak inside their mothers wardrobes from previous trends. We see pleats being a trend returning for 2017,” Holly said.

Launching the 2017 collection at the House Of iKons show has placed Kalgoorlie-Boulder/Mackay based label Bel Cappello into an international design category

The show saw a VIP guest list expanding to well known reality TV Celebrities and London A listers with entertainment from upcoming pop group Limited Edition.
