Sheppard Love Sassy Sues!

Sheppard at the Soundshell

Over 5,000 Kalgoorlie Boulder residents and visitors packed a picnic basket and made the pilgrimage to Centennial Park last Saturday to catch the third installment of the Sunset at the Soundshell series for 2016 and the much anticipated performance from the Brisbane (and a little bit Kalgoorlie) band Sheppard, supported by Kalgoorlie’s own Joshua David.

The crowd were treated to worldwide favourites, Geronimo and Let Me Down Easy as well as an original piece “I’m Sorry” performed for the first time ever to their outback audience. If you weren’t a part of the mosh pit, along with Sheppard’s own grandmother Zora Pugl, then you were bopping your body and clapping your hands at the back.

?Awww you're all a bit cute Kalgoorlie!Collaborate effort from the audience at Sheppard tonight. Big thanks to the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder for making tonight possible.

We love live music in the Goldfields and the popularity of past City of Kalgoorlie Boulder run Sunset at the Soundshell events are nothing to sniff at but there’s something about that family connection, that fierce Kalgoorlie pride and support of others who are doing well that brought out such an appreciative and enthusiastic crowd.

And what is the Kalgoorlie connection?
Three of Sheppard’s band members are the nieces and nephew of our friend Suzanne Pugl, also known as Sassy Sue, of Sassy Sues Designer Vintage on Hannan Street! See below to follow the antics of Emma, Amy and George Sheppard when they came to town to entertain us, play tourist and of course catch up with family.
