1st June 2017
There’s no need to fly South for the Winter this WA Day long weekend. All the action and entertainment for families is right here in Kalgoorlie Boulder (and a little bit North in Leonora). Read on as to why you should invite your family and friends to join you and celebrate WA Day in our sunny desert climate.

E13 Sessions at Black Crow Studios
Producing ‘One Off Gigs in Pop-Up Spaces’, the E13 Sessions crew are at it again this WA Day long weekend and you’re invited!
Local Musician Nick Costa will be playing alongside touring Denmark band, Evergone.
As usual, bring your picnic rug, bean bag or camping chair and don’t forget to pack snacks and drinks (you can BYO alcoholic drinks if you want)
Tickets are available via the Eleven 13 Records website – there’s great value in a family ticket too!
The Goldfields Cyclassic
For a long time in the history of the Goldfields in WA, the humble bicycle has been the preferred method of transport.
Dr Charles Laver used to cycle from Coolgardie to Laverton even!
Cycle enthusiasts will depart Kalgoorlie on the 3rd of June and make their way to Leonora over two days. There’s $40,000 worth of prizes to be awarded and wether you want to cycle or spectate – their website has all of the details.

The Leonora Golden Gift
What a way to celebrate the WA Day long weekend and “Australia’s Richest Foot Race” with none other than Eskimo Joe!
That’s right. Those guys.
This little town 230km’s north of Kalgoorlie Boulder will come alive this weekend with activities for families, concerts, comedy, throughbred racing and racing by people – right down the main street.
There’s family friendly stuff on too – A performance by The Lulu’s, A Silent Disco and Markets are just some worthy mentions.
We’re looking forward to free comedy produced by the Comedy Emporium. Goldfields acts will be giving you belly laughs in anticipation for the headline act; Andy Saunders from 5:30pm on Sunday.
If you’d like more information on this massive celebration check out the 2017 Leonora Golden Gift Programme.

WA Day at the Museum of the Goldfields.
This annual celebration has become very popular amongst KB residents who choose to stay in town over the long weekend.
All day Monday from 9:30am to 2:30pm, join us at the Museum for entertainment, craft activities for kids and the annual ‘Golden Bone Dog Show’.
Put your fears aside for a hug from a snake, get crafty with The Sparkle Sisters and send the kids up the wall for once with the PCYC Rock Climbing challenge.
